Why the “A Cut Above” Cleanup Program?

Because it’s what separates your property from everyone else’s. It’s keeps the mulch beds looking A Cut Above all year long.  This approach will not only keep your mulch and flower beds looking better, it will keep them healthier and save a lot of money compared to doing 2-3 separate cleanups.  One time cleanups have a larger cost due to the overgrowth, which can be avoided with our program.  You’ll end up spending a lot less in the long run!

What about a One Time Cleanup?

You will still get the “A Cut Above” service, expertise and quality outcome as the Spring and Fall Cleanup visits. Our one time cleanups are billed at $145 per hour for a 3 person crew plus $50 per cubic yard of mulch installed. Please note that we currently only offer one time cleanups to customers who are also signed up for one of our annual maintenance programs.

What does “A Cut Above” Deluxe Cleanup Program include?

Our expert experience has led to our three cleanup program. It’s designed to keep your property looking A Cut Above through each season. Below is our proven process for managing the long-term beautification of your landscape.

  • 1st Clean-up (Spring Cleanup): Typically during the spring. This opens your lawn/landscape up from a cold winter. A Cut Above weeds, re-edge’s existing flower beds, trims shrubs/ hedges, and cleans up leaf/small debris removal. After that we apply a pre-emergent herbicide to the flower beds before adding our fresh double shredded hardwood mulch.
  • 2nd Clean-up (Fall Cleanup): After summer, usually during the fall months. This includes all the services in the 1st cleanup, minus leaf removal and pre-emergent. *Leaf Removal is in November/December and is an available add-on to the program.
  • 3rd Cleanup-up (Winter Cleanup): During January/February, the winter cleanup is intended to give the property a “once-over” to gather organic debris that collect on the property during the winter months *Leaf Removal is in November/December and is an available add-on to the program.
  • 5 Bed Weeding Visits: These occur between our scheduled cleanups, ensuring the mulch beds stay weed free.
  • 1 Summer Trimming Visit: During the summer, shrubs and hedges need a light trimming to “hold them over” until our Fall Cleanup.

What does “A Cut Above” Standard Cleanup Program include?

A Cut Above weeds, re-edge’s existing flower beds, trims shrubs/ hedges, and cleans up leaf/small debris removal. How many inches (depth) of mulch are installed?

Our goal is to install between 1″-2″ of fresh mulch during our cleanups. If you go too deep with the mulch it can damage the plant material, and if it’s too thin it won’t provide enough protection. 1″-2″ is generally accepted as standard for our area (See the USDA Plant Hardiness Map).

Do you trim the trees on the property too?

Anything over 12′ tall is considered “Tree Work” and we unfortunately don’t have the equipment/skills necessary at this time to handle it safely.  We can help you find a tree contractor.

How Do We Know The Service Date?

We send email notifications with your scheduled job date soon after signup. You’ll then receive a second notification once your job has been Dispatched (usually within 24 hours of service). Once the service is completed we’ll send your post service notification.

Do You Need To Be Home For The Service?

No, you don’t have to be home. Most of our clients are not home when their services are performed. Special requests are documented beforehand and relayed to the crew leaders via their smartphone app. If you prefer to be home when the service is performed, please let us know and we’ll arrange for the crew leader to walk the property with you upon arrival.

What Happens After The Cleanup Service Is Completed?

The crew updates their smartphones when the service is completed and it alerts the office to send your post service notification email. This message will include details about the recently completed service, billing details, and a post service review request. All reviews are sent directly to a manager for review and it’s a great way for our customers to quickly communicate their thoughts about the visit.

Do You Mow The Grass During A Cleanup?

Yes, the cleanup crew also brings 1 mower with them to cut the grass if needed.

Did You Know?

We offer brown colored mulch, which keeps its color longer due to the high quality colorant that our suppliers use. It’s both non-toxic and environmentally safe. It’s shipped straight from WV to our shop.  Also, existing bed edges are re-edged to a depth of 2-3″, which has been proven to be the best depth for water drainage and appearance. We do offer black mulch upon request and at an extra charge.
